I'm Back...More or Less!

I am one bad blogger. I cannot believe it has been nearly 2 months since I last posted. Absolutely horrible. In my defense, it has been crazy around these neck of the woods. Work is getting in the way of any semblance of a real life for me. Working 40+ hours in a job that is technically "permanent part-time" with no PTOs or any benefits is really taxing. Have I mentioned how much I loathe retail? And during the holiday season? I feel it is mandatory every single person work retail sometime in their lifetime. Maybe then they wouldn't treat everyone who currently works there like crap. I thought this was going to be the job that was going to be my launching pad but not so much. Dontcha just hate it when nothing turns out like you had hoped? Hence the reason for my lack of inspiration and in turn, lack of blogging. I just haven't been feeling it. Not even the glorious thing we call Fashion Week could get me thru it. I am afraid this job is going to make me hate fashion. And that would pretty much kill me.

So, enough about me. How is everyone? What have I missed? Catch me up!!

I've missed you : )

To get back in the groove, here's a new little discovery and something that makes me happy:

Don't you just want to live here? This is the fabulous little nugget Edon Manor, a boutique in TriBeCa. I could stare at this picture all day. If only I had known about this while I actually lived in NY. Damn it!!

Just One More!

Ok now I know I usually post fashion - related or shoe - related items on here but this rental in Gramercy is absolutely to die for. On 5th Ave. near 34th St. and with hard wood floors that are drool-worthy. The view from the balcony is breathtaking and the floor-to-ceiling windows are immaculate. I would kill for this! 10 ft ceilings, health club, pool, sauna, yoga & aerobics facility, terrace, lounge with fire place, and a screening room? Hello?! 1489 sq. feet and $8700 a month. Not too bad if you ask me!!

Persimmon

I think I'm kind of in love with this place at 157 Hudson in Tribeca, NY. I'm not usually a huge fan of super modern/minimalism but I love the wide open spaces and the white walls. And that gorgeous persimmon color cabinetry. Divine. You would never expect this from the outside of the building. And even better, a secret entrance on the back side on Laight street. Adore it! Asking is nearly $2.4 million. Not too shabby for 2700 sq. feet in the city! I hope it finds a lovely owner : )

Speedy Evolution

Genius. Why do they have to have the good window displays after I leave?!
So flippin' creative I simply can't stand it!

Movin' on Up

My apologies for the extreme lack of postings. The family is in town and we are packing me up to move on up outta here! It may be a bit sparse on here for a few more days.

Tomorrow we hit up Serendipity 3 - iconic ice cream/restaurant/general store in NYC {check out the movie Serendipity - classic!}

Will efficiently be stuffing my face with ice cream/frozen hot chocolate as of 1:30 tomorrow afternoon.

Happy Weekend!

The Costume Institute's Gala

So I'm kind of kicking myself. Last night was the Costume Institute Gala for the opening of the new exhibit "Model as Muse" at the Met. Instead of being a sneaky hanger-on and oogling the models and designers and trying to get my pictures in, I went drinking. Stupid! However, I was not overly impressed by most of what the models/celebrities were wearing last night. So, I guess I feel a bit better about not wasting hours in the rain trying to a glimpse of a designer...

So here are my favs or intrigues from the looks seen on the carpet last night...{in no particular order mind you!}
Tom Ford in his own design {by far one of the most handsome men on earth}

Emma Roberts in Atelier Versace

Liv Tyler, Kate Hudson, and Stella McCartney...all in Stella of course just love how glamourous this photo is!

Selma Blair in Marc Jacobs

Mary-Kate Olsen in Christian Lacroix haute couture

Ashley Olsen in The Row and Justin Bartha in Dolce & Gabanna {my other favorite couple of the night! Gorgeous}

Jessica Stam in Rodarte

Jessica Alba with Jason Wu in Jason Wu. Not loving the shoes but the dress is adorable!

Gilles Mendel and Heidi Klum in J. Mendel {gorgeous!}

Francisco Costa and Eva Mendes in Calvin Klein Collection {fabulous as always that Eva!}

Okay, my ABSOLUTE favorite couple of the night {perhaps just in the world} Diane Kruger in Chanel Haute Couture and Joshua Jackson in Dolce & Gabbana

Rain Rain Go Away...Please Don't Come Another Day

Rain in the city. Warm and rainy. Kind of like Hawaii. But without the gorgeous beaches. At least it's warm...

Time to go shopping! Now if only it would rain money instead of water....

Hopefully I'll get to see Valentino: The Last Emperor this weekend!! Fantastic documentary about the fantabulous designer Valentino and his last seasons. It has gotten rave reviews. Fingers crossed!

Just a quick note...

Unfortunately, my internet at my apt in NY is not working anymore! So, until next Thursday, I will have to rely on alternate means of connecting to the world! DAMN IT!

New York is crazy, exhausting, and stressful...but the shopping is OH-SO-AMAZING.

Updates in one week.....(thanks a lot, Time Warner)

Anticipation...

Just a bit of what I hope to be working with in the very near future...
