I'm Back...More or Less!

I am one bad blogger. I cannot believe it has been nearly 2 months since I last posted. Absolutely horrible. In my defense, it has been crazy around these neck of the woods. Work is getting in the way of any semblance of a real life for me. Working 40+ hours in a job that is technically "permanent part-time" with no PTOs or any benefits is really taxing. Have I mentioned how much I loathe retail? And during the holiday season? I feel it is mandatory every single person work retail sometime in their lifetime. Maybe then they wouldn't treat everyone who currently works there like crap. I thought this was going to be the job that was going to be my launching pad but not so much. Dontcha just hate it when nothing turns out like you had hoped? Hence the reason for my lack of inspiration and in turn, lack of blogging. I just haven't been feeling it. Not even the glorious thing we call Fashion Week could get me thru it. I am afraid this job is going to make me hate fashion. And that would pretty much kill me.

So, enough about me. How is everyone? What have I missed? Catch me up!!

I have been a long time fan of Yigal {it helps that he is a gorgeous man who just happens to be straight!} His lines and structure are immaculate. I love this muted palette of grey, black, and nude with pops of color {be sure to check out the gorgeous orange number down below!} This collection reminds me a bit of Alex Wang but it is still stunning and I would buy each of the pieces I selected from his Spring Collection!

So, we all know about the H&M - Jimmy Choo colabo coming up right? Well the first photo has been leaked....thigh high leather {I assume?} round toe boots. I'm not so sure I'm too excited about these. And...for $345. At H&M? Really? I know they're Choos but isn't the point of H&M colabos to be present designer fashions at a more reasonable price point to the masses? Personally, I think it's still a little steep for something we can find somewhere else for less, I'm sure.

Fall 2009 Ad Campaign Time Continued!

Ok, back to some fashion! I love fall ad campaign time and simply cannot wait for my September issues to see these first hand. So...here we go!

Jennifer Connelly for Balenciaga. Now I'm sure we all know that she has been the muse for quite some time. Refinery29 deemed this "most awkward pose" but I actually kind of like it. Granted, I'm sure she is incredibly uncomfortable but I love the expression on her face and of course, the to-die-for clothes.

Who doesn't love to see models go a bit insane? Chaos at its most fashionable.

Could the supermodels of the 90s be making better comebacks this season? Christy for YSl, Linda for Galliano! I love this "Best American Girl in Paris" photo. She still looks as stunning as ever.

In true Jil Sander style, gorgeous minimalism for the fall campaign. I love the fin look on the back of the dress and love the halo effect of her dress against the black. Gorgeous.

Classic. Sultry. And beautiful clothes. Check out that killer necklace!

Love, love, LOVE the hair in these photos!! The wildness of the hair and the scenery against the gorgeous Mulberry bags is epic. That is one fierce look!

Ok now I know I usually post fashion - related or shoe - related items on here but this rental in Gramercy is absolutely to die for. On 5th Ave. near 34th St. and with hard wood floors that are drool-worthy. The view from the balcony is breathtaking and the floor-to-ceiling windows are immaculate. I would kill for this! 10 ft ceilings, health club, pool, sauna, yoga & aerobics facility, terrace, lounge with fire place, and a screening room? Hello?! 1489 sq. feet and $8700 a month. Not too bad if you ask me!!

I think I'm kind of in love with this place at 157 Hudson in Tribeca, NY. I'm not usually a huge fan of super modern/minimalism but I love the wide open spaces and the white walls. And that gorgeous persimmon color cabinetry. Divine. You would never expect this from the outside of the building. And even better, a secret entrance on the back side on Laight street. Adore it! Asking is nearly $2.4 million. Not too shabby for 2700 sq. feet in the city! I hope it finds a lovely owner : )

If you love to sing, dance, act, or just watch people do it....GO SEE THIS FILM! This is a documentary about the revival of "A Chorus Line" on Broadway recently and follows the actors, directors, and producers through the audition process of putting together this show. It is absolutely fantastic! {And if you're a fan of Tyce Diorio from So You Think You Can Dance....you get a sneak peak at his auditions and call backs - but you must be warned - prepare for some heartbreak!}

I am disappointed I never saw this when it first came to New York while I was working there...it is a wonderful film and a must see for dancers and Broadway enthusiasts!

Today the world has lost another great talent. The amazing writer and director John Hughes has passed away at the young age of 59 from an apparent heart attack. Hughes was THE man of the 80s and early 90s with films like The Breakfast Club {my all time number 1 favorite}, 16 Candles, National Lampoon's Vacation, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Uncle Buck, and Home Alone. John Hughes is the definition of the 80s for me and introduced me to most of my top ten favorite movies list. Such an unfortunate loss.

So chic. I just love vintage fashion ads. I think it's because I secretly {okay, not so secretly} believe I was meant to live in another fashion era. I feel as though I was just born about 30 years too late. I would have loved to grow up in the '60s and '70s. Granted, there were many a tryin' time during the years but the fashion just fits me to a tee. I love the chicness and modernity of the '60s and the hippie bohemian look of the '70s. My mom was quite the fashion girl {and she grew up during this time frame} and has looks that were to die for. I hope to scan some of her photos one of these days. What kills me is that she didn't think to save most of them!!!! And almost all of them were handmade by either she or my grandmother. How fantastic is that?!

I have a hunch this is a result of all the crap I've been dealing with in real life and it's translating into nothingness in my bloggie life. Anyone have any ideas to get me back on track? I almost want to start using this as a daily journal {but then I remember most of you won't want to hear about my sad little musings and my endless complaints : ) }

I think this is just the cutest wallpaper! I love the teal and white on the canvas colored background and it has parts of a bicycle strewn about the floral design. Adorable!! This would be too cute in a mud room or a back entry way into a house where shoes and umbrellas {and maybe even bicycles!} are kept! Gotta love Anthropologie!

When did Gap get so cool with their shoes? When Pierre Hardy started designing collections for them! These are a sneak peak at the his collection for this fall! The foldover boots, seen here in khaki and beige, also come in navy and grey. I'm pretty sure I want every color. I love the shearling lining. And those gladiator style pumps are glorious!! Oh how I want it all!! I'll be dreaming of them every night until mid-September when they are set to be released in all Gap stores. I'll be first in line : )

I don't know about you guys but I actually think these are kinda awesome! These new pair of skinny jeans from Rag & Bone have zippers on the back of the legs to adjust the width of the skinny to your desire! I love the detail on the front of the leg as well and think it's kind of rock and roll in the back. I love the pale grey color too. Rock these with a pair of killer black heels and I'd be set!

This is why I love Stella so damn much. She is such a flippin' creative genius! This is Stella McCartney's Fall 2009 ad campaign set to hit magazines in September. She is a huge Bambi fan and apparently the film reminds her of her "mum." I simply love the contrast of her gorgeous pieces with the classic Disney animation. Sorry for the lack of blogging these past few days. Trying to get my life together! So far, I have been unsuccessful, hence, the lack of postings. I have been lacking some inspiration these days. But fortunately.....

IT'S COUTURE SEASON!!! Yay! Couture is by far my most favorite of all the collections. And it has officially begun. Thank god for Christian Dior and John Galliano. I absolutely love his collection this season. Such a throwback to the 1950s when clients came into the salon to view the pieces. TO DIE FOR.

Yep, pretty sure I need to own this hat/hairpiece.

The use of color in this collection is stunning. And who doesn't love vintage lingerie?!

Kind of thinking I'm hating her for being able to work with Mr. Lagerfeld and getting to wear that amazing tiara. I know she is a bit controversial and a little bit on the crazy side {but hey, have you heard her song "Fuck You"? It's kind of FANTASTIC}, but I think she is a beautiful and quirky girl and makes a nice addition to the Chanel family. Can't wait to see more!

So, many of the fall ad campaign photos have been released. Some are fantastic, some are just okay. What do you lovelies think?!

The oh-so-gorgeous Christy Turlington returning as the star of YSL's Fall Campaign. How beautiful is she?!

Pringle of Scotland. Kind of loving the "old granny can't keep her stockings up" look. Absolutely adore their fall collection.

Um. Hi. Madonna, meet Photoshop. Photoshop, meet Madonna. I mean, I love the futuristic vibe of this photo but did she even model for this?! I mean really....

DSquared. How rock and roll is this?! I wish I could be that chick! What a bad ass!

Ok. Now, don't get me wrong. I will forever be an adoring fan of Chloe. The fall collection is absolutely stunning and I would kill to own each and every piece. As gorgeous as the clothes look {as well as the girls}, I think it's kind of bland....is it just me? I know that is Chloe's aesthetic as of late {which I really do love} but this just isn't wowing me I guess.

Again with the fields! I love this old school, kind of Victorian take but the field is just kind of bland. But, {and I'm assuming this is the point} the silhouettes of the girls and the pieces do stand out. I would love to work this long skirt, tweedy jacket, and hat look on a lovely autumn afternoon.

Cesare Paciotti. Kind of controversial for some hot shoes huh?! But I'm liking the intense color saturation and the deep hues. And I really do want those killer stilettos.

I just simply cannot believe that this force of nature and incredible talent is gone.

He was only 50 years old.

Though MJ has been considered a unique character, to say the least, no one can deny his amazing talent and the incredible draw this man had. He has had a huge impact on many generations and will continue to be an inspiration to so many people. As a dancer I have consistently been influenced by his skill and his ability to constantly entertain fans with not only his music but with his choreography as well. Though he has had his downfalls, he has always been a giant in the industry and a force to be reckoned with.

Truly an icon.

May you rest in peace MJ.

Meet Graeme Black - Scottish designer who just picked up the Designer of the Year award from the Scottish Fashion Awards this past weekend. His AW 09 RTW line was absolutely fantastic! So, I'm kind of a loser. I'm addicted to rewatching Friends and Sex and the City episodes on DVD. Yes, I own all seasons of both shows. I'm pretty much the coolest person you'll ever meet. *Please sense the sarcasm*

I am fully engrossed in season two of SATC and just finished watching "The Chicken Dance" where Carrie and Big attend a wedding. What really entertains me in this episode is the amazing dress she wears to the wedding. A strapless, light pink - almost nude, sequined chiffon Donna Karen gown. Stunning. There is this one part where she walks up to Big, he holding 2 pieces of wedding cake, and we see their profiles. It's just adorable to see how small she is compared to him, both of them dressed up in a beautiful gown and tux respectively. I just can't find the damn picture! So, you'll have to settle for this.

I found this at the HBO website, which is actually amazing! They have fashion credits for each episode and stills from each season of each of the characters. What a find!

Now, excuse me while I get back to season two...next up:

Could Steve Prefontaine be ANY cuter? Ok, maybe he can - have you seen him with his mustache? Only can Pre make a mustache attractive.

We attended the annual Steve Prefontaine Classic this past Sunday. It's one of the greatest track meets in the country and it's in my hometown; Track Town, USA - home of the hardest team to make. Google it. We're pretty awesome. We were home to the 2008 Olympic Track Trials and will be again in 2012. We are track fanatics here. It is absolutely amazing to see the turn out for these events. And the Pre is the best meet, hands down.

Home sweet home. More or less. This is my beautiful "city" known as Eugene. This is where I will be residing for the rest of my freakin' life it seems! I apologize for the lack of blogging however I have had NO inspiration lately. I never realized just how depressing it can be moving back home with your parents, your boyfriend miles away, and absolutely no job in your future. FUCK THE ECONOMY! That's all I have to say about that ; ) For now.

Anyhoo, sorry I've been such the loser as of late. Just not really feelin' it these days. You know how that goes? Any ideas on how to make it better?!

It's been far too long

I have been one HORRIBLE blogger. I apologize to those of you who may take some time to read about lil ol' me. I just recently moved back home {GASP} from the big city {with WAY too many clothes to pack up}, tried to unpack, and then had to pack up again for a long Memorial Day weekend spent camping with my favorites! I have had no cell phone or internet access in 3 days and had very little time to blog before I left reality ; ) My apologies! So I will be spending the next few days catching up on what I've been missing in the blog world as well as trying to find a damn job {all while trying to survive living with the parental units yet again, yikes}. Hope everyone is well!!

The gorgeous Lake Selmac where we spent 4 glorious days! Yes, it really is this beautiful. Pure blue skies, no clouds, 80 degrees, and a horrific sun burn to follow ; )

The "schwans" as my favorite boys liked to call them. Absolutely beautiful! And they had 2 little babies in tow all weekend!

Pretty sure we ate enough hot dogs to last us into next summer. But they were delicious {however ours were not polka dotted like these!}

S'MORES. Can't beat them. And cooked over a real fire? Even better!

The looks from this collection remind me of the 20s but with a rock and roll, edgy vibe. I'm loving it! And those wigs? Gorgeous! That makeup? Beautiful. Oh Karl, you know just how to make me fall in love with you over and over again.

Love this print. Can you find the little interlocking Cs in here? Love the navy and burgundy with cream combination. Great transition piece.

Simply gorgeous. Now if only I had a place to wear this. Perhaps my next stroll along Coney Island, no?

Oh my LORD I love this. The metallic thread. The accessories. That blouse. Her stare! Breathtaking.

The first half of the collection clearly had a nautical feel. Absolutely lovely and perfect for cruising around a gorgeous island. I only wish I had the legs {ok, let's be honest, I need the entire body to pull this off} to wear this running around town or jetting off to the beach for the day. Those shoes? Lace up, open-toe wedges. That's right. LOVING them.

So I'm sure many of you {haha ok maybe 2 of the 5 of you who may or may not read this!} may not know who this man with the overly exposed chest hair is. This, my loves, is Christopher Meloni aka Elliot Stabler from Law & Order: SVU!!!! I have an EXTREME addiction to all things Law & Order and SVU is quite possibly my greatest downfall!! I watch it religiously. I had the honor of attending this season's wrap party with my oh-so fabulous roommate (she was a PA on the set) Friday night. I was in heaven. Marishka Hargitay, Christopher Meloni, Richard Belzer, Ice-T {and his wife Coco!}.....HEAVEN I TELL YOU! It was a fantastic time and this picture made my night. That, and the fact I saw Matthew Broderick at the bar we went to after the party. CRAZY! Now if only SJP had been with him....DAMN IT.

Oh the perks of living in NYC...so sad to be leaving : (

So I discovered what might be the saddest thing ever in my shoe world. The fabulous Cynthia Vincent Luella gladiator wedges (see right) that I have been LUSTING over for quite a while went on sale and I MISSED IT!!! They were dirt cheap (and by this they were still nearly $200) on Gilt the other day and I didn't check my email until that evening. STUPID. MORON. IDIOT. Sold out. DAMN IT! Not that I have enough money for them but I'm sure I could have figured something out. This is what I get for trying to get out of the apartment and not be on my computer for a few hours ; )

I now must find a new lust. Actually I've already got about A MILLION but whatev....And I need to check my email constantly everyday before noon. Damn you Gilt Groupe!!!

So I'm kind of kicking myself. Last night was the Costume Institute Gala for the opening of the new exhibit "Model as Muse" at the Met.
